AT A GLANCE-District Savings Office/Bureau, Nilphamari is a government office under the Directorate of National Savings, Internal Resource Department , Ministry of Finance. It is working in building up saving mentality among the community of limited/terminal income with filling up the lacks of National budget through very small national savings schemes here and there in the country, to play vital role in lessening foreign dependence and in controlling the rate of inflation, for special community such as the female, the oldest citizens, the physically disabled, the immigrant Bangladeshis and the retired government service holders. Money can be invested here in different Sanchayapatra(Savings Certificate) in different ways for long/short term and by dint of investment a fixed amount of profit is given in accordingly with monthly, quarterly and after maturity. Savings is a great medium of self-reliance and is the symbol of social security.
